Valuable old lures lie atop an original Pflueger mail-order catalog published in the 1890s. Mail-order catalogs in general are enjoying nationwide popularity, just as they did among anglers in the late 1800s and early 1900s when it was difficult to obtain certain lures from retailers. Today, collecting old catalogs is becoming as popular as collecting old lures, plugs, files, bobbers and decoys. Lying on the catalog is a Pflueger May Bug made in 1892. To its right are a Heddon Artistic Minnow and an attached casting weight. In the background is an assortment of bass plugs. This has a textured finish (no glass), giving it the look and feel of canvas and is professionally framed in a 1.75" rustic brown frame.
